Whilst Sundays Herald Sun sprouked about there being no ‘spring in the spring market’ that’s not what we witnessed on Saturday with 4/5 auctions selling under the hammer.   When reading about the Melbourne property market it’s important to remember that journalists are quoting averages based on Greater Melbourne, not Inner Melbourne where there has been very little change.. Yes there are fewer people bidding on auctions day but most properties are selling at or about reserve by either private sale or post auction negotiations, you only have to look at Adam Bloem from Hocking Stuart in Armadale who’s personal clearance rate is still above 80%!   I think it’s all you share investors trying to compete with the property market stirring up this garbage – you want the property market to look bad as the stock market  - it’s like the Melbourne Vs Sydney competition!
